La Galleria Gilda Lavia ha il piacere di ospitare Just sleeping, mostra degli artisti Francesco Andreozzi, Janneke Leenders e Oriente Plazzi Marzotto, che inaugurerà venerdì 29 settembre alle ore 18.

Il percorso espositivo coinvolge i tre giovani artisti invitati a riflettere sul tema del sonno, strettamente legato alla sfera onirica e a tutto ciò che accade nel momento in cui il nostro corpo e la nostra mente entrano in una dimensione “altra”.

“Trascorriamo più o meno un terzo della nostra vita dormendo e più di un quarto di questo spicchio di esistenza sognando, ripetutamente, ogni notte…” queste le parole utilizzate da Oriente Plazzi Marzotto per descrivere l’idea base dalla quale realizza il suo lavoro installativo e pittorico, alla ricerca di ciò che accade in quel labile confine tra veglia, sonno e sogno.

Allo stesso modo Janneke Leenders nelle sue opere attua una riflessione su quella sensazione di alienazione e distacco di un corpo che dorme, la sua è un’indagine sulla materia, sul processo attraverso il quale, durante il sonno, mente e corpo accedono ad una differente linea temporale.

L’intimità della notte, il sovrapporsi di sogni e pensieri si fanno invece catarsi nei dipinti di Francesco Andreozzi che attinge alla sua “notte interiore” per ricongiungersi con la sua parte più profonda, alla ricerca di un linguaggio che possa dare una forma ai frammenti del sogno.

Percorrendo queste tre declinazioni tematiche ognuno dei tre artisti stimola l’osservatore a riflettere sulle varie sfaccettature della potenza del sonno.

Gilda Lavia Gallery (Rome) is pleased to host Just sleeping, an exhibition with the artists Francesco Andreozzi, Janneke Leenders and Oriente Plazzi Marzotto which will open on Friday September 29 at 6 pm.

The exhibition itinerary involves the three young artists invited to reflect on the theme of sleep, closely linked to the oneiric sphere and to everything that happens when our body and mind enter an “other” dimension.

“We spend more or less a third of our life sleeping and more than a quarter of this segment of existence dreaming, repeatedly, every night…” these are the words used by Oriente Plazzi Marzotto to describe the basic idea from which her installation and pictorial work is born, searching what happens in the blurred boundary between wakefulness, sleep and dream.

In the same way Janneke Leenders in her works carries out a reflection on that sensation of alienation and detachment felt by a sleeping body, she investigates on substance, on the process through which, during sleep, mind and body reach a different timeline.

The intimacy of the night, the overlapping of dreams and thoughts become catharsis in the paintings by Francesco Andreozzi who taps into on his “inner night” to reunite with his deepest feeling, in search of a language that can give shape to the fragments of life.

Going through these three thematic declinations, each of the three artists stimulates the observer to reflect on the various facets of the power of sleep.
