Il racconto di storie attraverso le parole, le voci e le scritture degli artisti – siano esse memorie personali, rituali collettivi, storie marginali – permea Those Winged Words.
La messa in scena si concentrerà da un lato sul quotidiano e il luogo comune – il racconto del quotidiano come narrazione dello straordinario – e dall’altro lato sull’inspiegabile, il profondamente misterioso e il magico, come due facce della stessa medaglia. Gli spazi della Fondazione si trasformeranno in un palcoscenico con performance dal vivo, letture, proiezioni video, interventi in situ di artisti il cui lavoro è ispirato da un profondo interesse per il processo di lettura e scrittura che spesso attinge all’ironia, al gioco, al caso, al simbolismo e all’auto-narrazione. In questo modo, gli spettatori si confronteranno con un’interpretazione poetica di un soggetto specifico che li avvicinerà alla propria esperienza sentita e che dimostrerà anche l’elasticità del linguaggio, sia che esso circoli come testo, come immagine o discorso. L’assonanza che ne risulterà farà eco alla profonda connessione tra la storia orale e i corpi che la riportano.
Il potere del non detto e la sua dimensione a volte straniante – ma inevitabilmente magnetica – saranno rivendicati attraverso i racconti, le testimonianze orali e le opere degli artisti partecipanti. La dualità tra tangibilità e immaterialità, l’oscillazione tra trasparenza intima e opacità enigmatica, sarà dunque il fulcro di queste due serate di novembre, in cui ogni incontro non solo delineerà un ritmo, ma costellerà le stanze della Fondazione creando una trama di narrazioni.
The telling of stories through artists’ words, voices and writings – may they be personal memories, collective rituals, sidelined histories – permeates Those Winged Words.
The staging will focus both on the quotidian and the commonplace, the telling of the everyday as a narrative of the extraordinary, but also on the inexplicable, the deeply mysterious and the magical, as if they were two sides of the same coin. The spaces of the Foundation will be transformed into a stage with live performances, artists’ readings, video projections, in situ interventions by artists whose work is inspired by a deep interest in the process of reading and writing, and often draws on irony, playfulness, chance, symbolism and self-narration. In this way, viewers will encounter a poetic interpretation of a specific subject that will bring them closer to their own felt experience and that will also demonstrate the elasticity of language, whether it circulates as text, image or speech. The resulting assonance will echo the deep connection between oral history and the bodies that report it.
The power of the unsaid and its sometimes alienating – but inevitably magnetic – dimension will be claimed through the stories, oral testimonies, and artworks of the participating artists. The duality between tangibility and immateriality, the oscillation between intimate transparency and enigmatic opacity, will thus be the fulcrum of these two evenings in November, in which each encounter will not only delineate a rhythm, but also constellate inside the rooms of the Foundation to create a web of narratives.
